Sheila’s tip of the week

DID YOU KNOW?

In Socrates you can use the Patient Export facility to export a Patient’s full file including all letters and scanned documents into a PDF document.  This can be given to the patient / Solicitor.

How to do a Patient Export:

To begin, create a folder called ‘Patient Export’ on your Local C drive which you can use to save all Patient Export PDF’s.

In Socrates, click Edit > Preferences from the main menu. Select Documents tab. Click ellipsis button beside Patient Export Path and select the ‘Patient Export’ folder on the C:\ drive.

In Socrates go to Patient Maintenance and on click Patient Export on left-hand side of screen.

Enter the Patients name in the Reference box (Surname, first name] and click the ellipsis button. Ensure you select the correct patient on the Search screen.

If you set the default path in Edit > Preferences the Export Directory will be already populated. Alternatively, click the ellipsis button and select the ‘PatientExport’ folder from the C drive.

Select the information you want to display in the exported file by checking / unchecking the appropriate checkboxes. E.g. uncheck e-Messages.

If running this report for Medico Legal reasons click ‘Include Audit details on report’. This will include extra details e.g. HCP name.

Click Run to begin the export. You cannot use Socrates while the file is being exported to pdf.

The file will look like this in Patient Export directory.

If you want to filter by specific dates, click Between Dates and select the dates needed.

We recommend deleting the file from C:\PatientExport once you have securely emailed or printed the pdf document for the Patient / Solicitor.
